Folks, a good friend of mine is now launching a book publishing business of his own. He is Robert Friedman, formerly of Hampton Roads. What he is doing is so exciting, I am sending all of you his entire announcement. Please forward it on to others. Let's get this man some business and help people who really have something to say to find a wonderful outlet for their work. Blessings to all of you, P. M. H. Atwater, L.H.D.
ROBERT FRIEDMAN'S ANNOUNCEMENT
I don't usually do group mailings, except to friends and family around holiday time. So forgive this collective missive, but I wanted to let everyone know of my new publishing adventure. Many of you are aware that I retired from Hampton Roads about a year ago. But it was difficult, after working in publishing for over 38 years, to all of a sudden hang it up. Too boring and too much work left to do on the planet. I had a wonderful opportunity offered to me by my friend Rudy Shur at Square One Publishers in New York. He said he would distribute whatever I wanted to publish. Such a deal! Rudy has a wonderful company which publishes about 40-50 books a year, and my genres fit in well with his.
As you can see from the description below (taken from my website), I have decided to concentrate on books of a spiritual nature, though I will consider other genres in the metaphysical arena as well. I have always been interested in the various approaches to spirituality that humankind embraces, from the organized religions (and their mystical traditions), to the beliefs of indigenous peoples, and the mis-labeled "new age" points of view. My goal in publishing over the years was to publish books that shed some light on the nature of humankind and the universe, and just as importantly, offered some practical advice about the evolving human spirit.
I am also working on co-producing a documentary on the nature of God with Neale Donald Walsch (as most of you know, he is the author of the incredibly profound series of books called Conversations with God) and also working with my son Jonathan, who will be directing and filming. More on that next year.
I would be exceedingly grateful if you feel inclined to pass this on to your own e-mail lists of friends and acquaintances, and ask them to pass it on. I was told that this is how you get the word out on the Internet. I now have a Facebook page for Rainbow Ridge, but don't really know how to work it yet. For those of you who would like to read a book or two or three, they are available from Amazon (www.amazon.com), Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com), or Square One's website (www.squareonepublishers.com).
So here are the first three titles and some copy from my website. More detailed descriptions are on the website, and if you hold down the shift and click on each cover, it will take to the book description.
Conversations with Jesus
Dialogue with the Devil
Divine Mother Speaks
From my website, www.rainbowridgebooks.com:
"Our goal is to challenge old paradigms, present some new ones, and perhaps enlighten the minds and move the hearts of many as we continue to live our common adventure as human beings. Our mission is to look into how the universe really works, discover who we really are, and what our purpose on earth is. It's a spiritual quest within a physical universe. But the undivided connection is there, always has been, and our mission is to demonstrate it.
"These are not the best of times for the planet Earth. In this 21st century, we still can't seem to shake the old demons of war, starvation and poverty, religious conflicts, genocide, bigotry, and hate; and some newer ones such as increasingly destructive climate change, nuclear proliferation, terrorism, and environmental degradation. No one has all the solutions, but with this new list, we are offering a few from some well-known teachers: Jesus, the Devil, and the ancient Egyptian Goddess Hathor. Here are three books which bring some fascinating perspectives to modern questions and dilemmas.
"You may find it strange that many of the messages are similar. After all, we have known them from every master teacher and enlightened mind who has ever given us the benefit of their wisdom. But in Conversations with God, Neale Donald Walsch's co-author points out that it's not so much who talks, but who listens.
"We promise that you will find these messengers and messages a bit different than what you might have been taught. We promise you will find it challenging and entertaining . . . and never boring. The gentle and surprising Jesus, the strident and quick-witted Devil, and the kind, nurturing Divine Mother: We hope they speak to you."
I wish you all good health, and a wonderful holiday season.
All the best,
